MutekMK, Mexico City

Sound Architecture is an immersive audio installation presented as part of the 20th anniversary of the MutekMX Festival.

Curated by Christopher Manhey and produced by Omni Soundlab, this experience explored the intersection between sound, space, and the inherent interaction of the public, offering a moment of introspection amidst powerful performances by artists such as Alva Noto, Daito Manabe, and Boris Acket.

Through expanded composition techniques, elements of acoustic ecology, chamber music, electronics, and electroacoustic music were integrated, giving rise to sound structures that interweave harmonies, resonances, and rhythms within a spherical coordinate system.

Each 30-minute session, set in a dim atmosphere, immersed the audience in a deep listening experience, interweaving concepts of acoustic ecology, chamber music, electronics, and electroacoustic styles, revealing harmonies, resonances, and rhythms within a spherical coordinate framework.
