ART Week, CDMX
ORIGINS, seen through the lens of Omni Soundlab, represents a movement towards a new era of art and technology. This innovative format promotes a neural network of creative minds that functions as an open medium of expression. At its core, ORIGINS embodies the belief that the future of art lies in collaboration and co-creation. The volumetric format, “The Dragon”, is constantly evolving through collective creation, representing an experiment in digital evolution.
Science supports the powerful stimulating effects of light and sound on all living beings. Recent research indicates that the neural systems that process light and sound significantly impact the neurochemistry, morphology, and electrical activity of the brain. ORIGINS harnesses this synergy between the visual and the sonic to explore synesthesia: a neurophysiological phenomenon where the brain activates multiple senses simultaneously.
Digital Synesthesia, an ORIGINS project, delves into this experience where sound involuntarily evokes sensations of colors, shapes, and movement. Through precise control of light and sound, this installation uses “The Dragon”, a volumetric LED technology, as a multidimensional portal. The visual work is activated in an audio-reactive way by sound pieces through a 7.1 surround sound system, generating an immersive audiovisual experience that simultaneously stimulates the visual and auditory senses.
